Synesthesia

What is Synesthesia?

Some people see colors in letters or numbers called color-graphemic synesthesia, see colors from sounds call sound-color synesthesia, or taste from hearing or saying certain words call lexical-gustatory synesthesia. 

How do some people have this ability? 

One of the beliefs argues that all people initially have this ability, but because of later stages in neurodevelopment when neuronal pruning occurs people lose the ability. The individuals who do not go through this process completely may have synesthesia.

Other arguments for how one can have synesthesia include cross-wiring of neurons, or atypical functioning of the ‘association area’ in the brain. Synethesia specifically color-graphemic can be induced through taking hallucinating drugs such as Magic Mushroom.

People with synesthesia has been linked to having stronger memory.

Concerning Hobbits

I've read the book back in 2004. And now 2011, the trailer has come out (super excited!). This is a masterpiece revolves around a wizard, a dragon named Smaug, a Bag-End hobbit and a band of dwarves (oh and also my preciousss...)

One year to go for the release of the 1st part (the 2nd part will be in 2013 though). Tolkien / LOTR fans, mark your calender 14 December 2012. ;) make sure to keep up with The Hobbit updates.

Ramadhan al-Kareem

Dalam diam, setiap tahun diriku sangat gembira dengan kedatangan bulan mulia ini. :)

Lima tahun lepas, berpuasa sebagai pelajar di perantau.

Tiga tahun, berpuasa di negeri pantai timur.

Dua tahun lepas, berpuasa di negeri bersejarah.

Setahun lalu, berpuasa sebagai pelajar tahun akhir, sambil bekerja.

Tahun ini, berpuasa sepenuhnya di rumah, dengan keluarga. Ya, itu suatu nikmat.

InsyaAllah, puasa tahun ini lebih diberkati & lebih banyak amalan dari tahun sebelumnya. Sama macam kita berharap hari esok lebih baik dari hari ini. Kita tak akan tahu apa yang bakal terjadi, berdoa lah untuk jadi yang lebih baik. Amin :)

Transformers, roll-out!

I am a fan of Transformers since I was small. Growing up watching the cartoons and now, able to watch the movie, is as close as hoping the robots in disguise to come alive, in our real daily life. The dream to collect their figurines as collectibles never fades. In the future, I will make sure this is a dream come true. Ah yes, this is how I am a fan to the Transformers. :)

Transformers II - Revenge of the Fallen. Transformers III - Dark of the Moon. Both I got the chance to watch it at the premiere screening. Two days earlier for TF II & few hours earlier before the other premiere screening for TF III. And both are the result of entering a contest *wuhoo, super excite!*

A quick review:

Transformers (2007) The most closest story line to the cartoon story.

Transformers II - Revenge of the Fallen (2009) It has the most Autobots characters.

Transformers III - Dark of the Moon (2011) Major destruction! Awesome epic battle.

*The original Transformers animated movie was in 1986. Have you watch it yet?

Michael Bay did an amazing interpretation of his own with three spectacular movies. Though it's not all perfect but to bring Autobots and Decpticons into life, it needs a strong and reliable imagination. For me, it surpass my expectation. All will be kept safe for a story to be told to the generation in the future.

The 2nd Convocation

15th May 2011. Sidang ke-6.

Another big day for me as the date marks my 2nd convocation. This time it's for Degree. After 2 years being placed at UiTM Kampus Bandaraya Melaka, all is finished right on track. I'm very grateful for it. Syukur Alhamdullilah for every opportunity given to me :)

From the bottom of my heart, a thank you wish wouldn't be enough to compare with all the help and guidance given from all these people; Ibu, Kaklong, Classmates, Coursemates and Lecturers. You guys are forever in my heart!

Now when it's all over, I really missed the moment. Having the opportunity to study at Melaka is fun! Really, not just because of it's historical city, but also because of the people I met and be friends with. Kampus yang sentiasa sejuk beku. Lif yang if tak sampai awal, kena naik tangga sampai tingkat 16. 'The look' from pak guard & mak guard - This is what you get as a student at UiTM Malacca City Campus. Bila teringat balik semua pengalaman, it makes me smile. Each student has their own "life as a student" story and this is mine. :)

29th April 2011 - almost 2 billion people in the world, shared their happiness for the royal wedding of Prince William & Catherine Middleton. The weather was good. Nak seribu daya. Tak nak seribu dalih - I think I should use this peribahasa as an encouragement for every time I want to join a contest.

It's Bruno Mars 1st ever concert in Malaysia. And the tickets SOLD OUT in just 3 days. Memang la semua terkejut kan! And I think this never happened in Malaysia before. Nak menang through radio, agak susah sebab sah-sah ramai jugak nak cuba menang. 

And then I found out about "Bruno Mars SMS trivia contest" by Maxis. The rules are - buy the bundle caller ringtones and answer most trivia questions to win. Alhamdulillah dapat menang 2x Rockzone & it is worth it sebab harga tickets lagi mahal dari harga total sms. Sangat sukaaa perasaan menang. :)

Oh yes! Bruno Mars rocked PWTC with his voice, a little bit of dancing, playing drums & guitar. With the hits like Just The Way You Are, Grenade & Count on Me, all the fans voluntarily became his backup singer. He did a tribute on Micheal Jackson's Billy Jean and a mashup for Nothin' On You & Billionaire. 

He sang all the songs in the album except for Talking To The Moon. For about 1 1/2 hours duration, Bruno deserves an applause for his stamina & a good control on his vocals. He is awesome & a true talented entertainer. + he sings what every girl wants to hear.

February Love

25/2 - (Friday)

Few days back, I was busy helping. Then on this date, all the effort was paid off. I wasn't expecting anything, really, but what I get was really unexpected. From the bottom of my heart, syukur alhamdullilah and thank you for the food fiesta!

No picture(s) because I want to substitute with a video. This video is related because of the similar place (the clue is fish.) I went to for lunch treat. Oh and, this guy will be on my upcoming Video Series entry.
